It is true that freedom is only possible with God. The Holy Spirit opens our minds and our hearts to true knowledge and wisdom. He brings light to a dark world. Jesus is the only way to the Father. Today, people are afraid to sell out to Jesus and to give Him their life. However, when we give Jesus our lives, we gain everything. Jesus doesn’t want us to be afraid of Him. He will take things away from our lives, but He will give us true freedom, peace, and joy. With Jesus, we gain everything of real value.
God created two institutions: The Church and the family. He created the family first. The Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20) for us, started at home with our children. We began to make disciples out of them. I remember joining our local church and being asked to work in the children’s ministry. I look at this now as disobedience but at the same time God may have been at work when I told the ladies at church that my first ministry was to my children. My husband and I made sure that our children were active in the children’s ministry. Through it all, God was at work for us. He was behind the scenes and in front of the scenes working it all out for our good and His glory.
